Draw two frames of balls. The outer frame covers every square along the edge of the room. The inner frame is two squares in from the edge, with an empty ring between the two frames.

Your code runs in rooms of different sizes, each at least 5 by 5. The inner frame has no walls to follow, so measure the room first and count your steps.
